TESTS AND RESULTS

Test Results

We will be happy to contact you via telephone, letter, SMS or email if your result is abnormal.  We will not contact you if result is normal.  When requesting results of tests, please ensure that you phone in the afternoon, as the telephones are less busy, and the results have to be checked by your Doctor. For reasons of confidentiality, results can only be given to patients themselves or to parents/guardians of children.  You can also access to view your test results via our online services and logging into SystmOne and your medical record, this may save you time and can be done out of surgery hours at your own convenience. 

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if you are advised to do so.
